Planning a Moroccan-themed party or event? Be sure to include Moroccan tea on your menu! This timeless beverage is a great way to introduce your guests to the flavors and traditions of Moroccan culture, while also providing them with a refreshing and delicious drink option.
Start by heating the water in a saucepan on medium-high heat until it reaches a boiling point.
Next, if you are using a Moroccan teapot or any teapot that can be placed on the heat source is great, if not you can use a medium saucepan instead.
Add the black tea to the boiling water, and lower the heat to the lowest setting, then cook it until it boils again. It will start rising like milk.
Turn off the heat and add the mint leaves. If you are using sugar cubes, use them to push the mint down.
Stir your tea, then pour it into a glass, and pour the glass back into the teapot. Repeat the process twice. This action will mix your tea well, and make it taste great.
If you are using a saucepan to make the team, you can use a fine mesh strainer.
You can serve it right away, but the best way to serve it is to let the tea steep for at least 15 minutes, then heat it again.
Notes
During the hot summer days, you can turn this amazing tea into a great summer drink, by turning it into iced mint tea by allowing it to cool down completely, then adding to it ice cubes.
Dried mint can also be used instead of fresh mint.
